Literature Text

Sleep now my little one
And dream of days gone by
When you danced in the sun
Where fear and shadow did not play

Hush now, you needn’t cry
You are safe here for a time
Till the midnight bells toll
And demons dance down the street

But you needn’t fear sweet babe
For you are here with me
In arms that will guard you
From those who hate and scheme

Smile, though you wish for tears
And they linger on your face
Sleep, and dream of brighter days
Before the darkness came

And the demons, they dance
As the darkness comes
And the sun, she hides her face

But you needn’t fear
For you’re here with me
In arms that will guard you
In the arms of one who loves you
For all time, throughout eternity
Poem I wrote over the summer. It's supposed to be a lullaby of sorts.

It has some kinks I need to work out but I would like some outside opinions.
